Dyer at Alabama is laughable.

I've observed Saban long enough to know that Dyer ain't coming to Bama. Saban has a stable of top-notch backs already with more coming in in February. He wouldn't touch a character-issue Auburn reject in a million years.

A lot of people made similar comments about Aaron Douglas, too.

I don't know about that we took Aaron Douglas after being kicked out of UT and he obviously had not straightened himdlef out despite reports to the contrary. I hope Saban doesn't go this route again as it rarely works out.Cam Newton is the only one I can think of that did but it almost spelled disaster for the barn but I also think that hurt their program as much as the tainted NC helped it. Mttenberger isn't doing much for LSU either.I'm not bashing Saban for AD but I hope he doesn't repeat that kind of action. He's very hard on players he recruits out of high school and when they get in the dog house with him they almost never really get out. When they're not good enough for AU or UT they definitely shouldn't be for us.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Auburn tried to get Kirby Smart. The guy is a true Saban protege. I think he'll make a fantastic coach. Auburn is going with the " you can't beat em, join em" strategy. but I seriously doubt smart would go to auburn. he will have options. options that don't require you to fight tooth and nail against your mentor for every player you want. plus, he knows the hate is already to strong.

in summary, the poster is probably correct. but I doubt the interest is mutual.

Can someone explain to me why Kirby taking the Auburn job is so far-fetched? Georgia recruiting is his bread-and-butter and Auburn is about as close as you can get to Georgia without being in the state. I get the sense they're ready to start throwing some serious money at the program and he could probably get whatever improvements he wants, similar to Jimbo Fisher. What am I missing?
