Imagine a running back gets a toss or sweep to the outside and he sees that he is going to be tackled for an obvious loss; there's just nothing he can do. Could he then throw the ball across the LOS and out of bounds? It seems to me that since a qb can do this instead of taking a sack that a rb should be able to as well. Or would the possibility of having linemen down the field mess this plan up, even though the ball isn't being thrown to them?

Any other things you guys have ever thought about to sort of "beat the rules"?
