I am almost in Tears... "The Andy Griffith Show" IS THE BEST SHOW EVER.... I watch it EVERY night at 10:00 and 10:30 on WTTO TV 21... This is a sad day..

At first glance I thought that said Adam Griffith...
I turn 28 on Sunday, but I've seen almost every episode of the Andy Griffith show (black and white ones, anyway) I remember watching it in my years before I started kindergarten when it preceded I Love Lucy, then watched almost every night on Nick at Night I think it was... Truly is a very sad day, the man was an icon in my eyes. RIP

Andy Griffith's famous 1953 stand-up monologue about college football. It has become one of the most beloved comedy recordings of all time. The illustrations used in this video were drawn by George Woodbridge, a Mad Magazine artist. The comic illustration appear in Mad Magazine in 1958. RIP. I am 27 and used to watch " The Andy Griffith" Show and "I Love Lucy" every morning with my mom before school.

I'm 28 and loved watching his shows with my mom and dad. The reason this is so sad to hear, is because you felt like he was a Hollywood actor, but he was just like us at the same time. Almost feel connected to him, hence folks being emotional enough to shed a tear. sad day indeed.

To me what made him so great was his unselfishness when it came to Don Knotts. The Andy Griffith show was originally cast with the idea that Griffith would be the primary source for humor, and in the first year of the series that was the case. Andy Griffith saw just how good Knotts was and led the way to have the scripts reflect that by more material written for Knotts.
He had previously worked with him on a movie, and got him the gig on the show. Knotts thought the world of Griffith because his unselfishness paved the way for his own success.

I just called my father to tell him the news. He thinks the world of AG and the AG Show. I didn't watch it unless I was with him, he didn't want to miss a rerun...ever. LOL. Its truly amazing how so many of us and/or Dads have this in common with The AG Show.
