If he pans out like the coaches think he could in the next few weeks, we would have an extremely solid and powerful OL.

Double stuff oreo, I literally just laughed out loud. I hope that happens just so I can call our Oline the double stuffed oreo.

Also remember that while Andre started right off the bat...we didn't have the depth that we have right now.
Don't get me wrong...there was a reason Andre was a top 3 player in the nation on every recruiting service, but he came in out of shape...wasn't he like 6'4" 340?
He somewhat disguised that with his just raw talent at the position.
Now we have Cyrus...who came in at 6'7" 330...with about 90% of that being muscle..and probably already has NFL scouts drooling...and he hasn't even played yet.
My opinion is either start him or redshirt him...don't waste a year of eligibility just putting him in for a few series a game.

I didn't go around talking about it on message boards, but I was one of the many that thought Cyrus wouldn't realistically start. All of our O-Line talent, how Saban likes experience (even though he'll play the best), how experience usually means success on the O-Line, the ease of moving Jones over, etc. But hey, if he's ready... I'll be pumped about it!

We don't have depth at the position right now. If we did, the decision wouldn't be between a guard and a true freshman. Cyrus is a badass and will be dominant but if we had depth, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Under most of you guys guess at depth chart are you assuming Steen has beaten out Warmack?
