Rivals subscription cancelled...

This is not one of those "Y'all please pat me on the back...yay...we're cooler than Rivals..." threads...
I just wanted to briefly share my experience. I called the number to cancel ,after seeing the $99 come out of my bank account unexpectedly, and explained to the rep. that I no longer use Rivals and have not for a while. I asked that he cancel my subscription and refund my money. Of course he asked if I would be interested in a few free months, to which I said "no thanks" , but he was extremely courteous and helpful throughout. He cancelled my sub and told me that I would be refunded in about 5-7 days. Moral of the story: it was not at all the nightmare I expected...
From those of you who have asked for a refund from Rivals, were you in fact refunded in 5-7 days?

Moral to this story is cancel your subscription at least a week before your renewal. That is what I plan to do just to make sure they don't tag me for $99.00.

that definitely would've been the smart thing to do...but i couldn't remember when my renewal date was...been at rivals since '05 and just forgot the magic date

I canceled today, but it was because my renwel would auto on January 1, 2012. I was on hold for over 25 minuets. I have to admit it was the worst support I have ever received over the phone. I am sorry but at 9 in the morning I do not think Rivals is soo busy they can not answer a phone in less than 25 minuets.

thanks for the reminder, I just cancelled my account as well. I called in to cancel a few months back and was given a bunch of free months. Even with the free months I haven't logged in for a long time so I just called and cancelled. Pretty painless phone call, I must have gotten a good agent on the phone.

Had the same thing happen to me, but I was under the impression that if it renewed you would not be refunded.

I called the other day to cancel mine as well, I had the free period till sometime this month. The guy I spoke with was actually really nice, was really interested when he asked why I wanted to cancel and I said I was more impressed with BOL and I would have nothing to do with a company that support J. Lee and his leaking member info.

They have an old card of mine that has been cancelled for awhile on file so I just plan to let it go haha.
