Ru Foster contacted CNS.

  • I was told a couple of days ago that Foster called CNS and TOS is now reporting the same. OH my!!!!! I spoke with Coach Yeager last week and we discussed his week in Montgomery. Had some great things to say about our current commits but made a point to say "the guy I wish would go to Alabama is the Foster kid." He said he is the most dominating player he has ever seen at the high school level. Said that first hit in the game was nothing compared to what he was doing all week in practice and they asked him to let up on the rbs so no one would get hurt. I asked what kind of kid he was and he said he was a great kid. A yes sir, no sir, well behaved and obedient guy. I was shocked after what most people are saying about him. I for one will welcome him back and be glad to point him to someone that specializes in tatoo removal. Please dont forget that CyKo got the same treatment from Troop that Foster did. We need to all be posting as much as possible that we not only want but WELCOME with open arms RF back to Bama.

I can't...he'll need to do something with that. Can hear Verne talking about it now.

  • Part of me wonders if this will end up being another Corey Grant situation. Sign with us, stay a year and then defect toward the home team and then have a career Trey Blackmon would find familiar.

  • This guy has JClowney type upside as a freshman. If we do get him he will play early and often. He and OJ are the two most athletic and college ready high school players in the country. Grant was not even good enough to play for Auburn.

Your post suggests that Corey Grant would have contributed to our team had he not transferred out. Then, tell me this: why has he not contributed at Auburn - certainly, a program with less depth and more opportunities to play than Bama?

  • the difference bt RUB and CyKo was Cyrus had a great family upbringing to steer him in the right direction.

Foster does not. Hopefully CNS gets through to him.

  • corey is just like terry was...straight line fast as hell with no shake and soft as can be...doubt he would have contributed anywhere in the SEC

id love to get foster back..just tat in an F

  • That's my point. Even with "a great family upbringing" Trooper got to CyKo. How easy was it to get to a kid who has the background RF comes from?

    rikwah

  • Would love to see him in Crimson next year. Roll Tide RF

Glad you're not Saban making that decision! Don't think he'd care If Rueben had an aubie body sleeve and timers sleeve on one arm and trooper humping a sheep on the other arm! That's a take as long as the attitude is right.

  • Clowney is other worldly dominant. I love Foster but I don't think anyone will ever be like that in our system. We will always have a lot of studs to the point if will be hard for one guy to shine brightly over everyone else AND have big enough numbers to be nationally relevant in discussions like Clowney is

maybe if mosely had a couple more sacks and picks this year he would have been close on paper but still not the game changer clowney is

Tell people what they want to hear, they will like you. Tell them the actual truth...they may not.

  • Clowney is "other worldly dominant" as a pass rusher. He is average against the run, at best. My point was that RF has the same type of athletic ability and drive. When the head coach of the Alabama All Star team tells me that RF was blowing guards back 3 yds on every rep and then was able to make highlight type hits on the rb's I tend to believe what I had already seen on tape. The kid is beyond special. He is dominant. Dominant enough that he is the undisputed number one linebacker in the country. Dominant enough that many "National Recruiting Experts" say he is the best HS linebacker this country has seen in ten years. Dominant enough for CNS to keep recruiting him even after the crap Trooper talked him into pulling.

In our defense the LB's have the best chance to be "nationally relevant in discussions" and as good as Rolo and Donta were and CJ is, they were not as complete as RF is at the same point in their careers. If you doubt it then go back and watch the tape. He might be the biggest and fastest combo of a LB I have ever seen and has more KO type hits than Rolo, Donta and CJ had in HS combined.

My point was his "upside" and athletic ability is right there with Trent, Julio and Clowney type guys but he is already more polished at his position than Rolo, Donta and CJ were as HS seniors. If any one we are recruiting can be "other worldly dominant" on the defensive side of the ball it is this guy.
