There are forced retirements and unforced retirements. Bottom line, his profession was a professional football player and isn't going to be in the future.

I never even saw him take a snap for money,
Guess I can scratch that one off my bucket list.

We call that unemployed not retired where I come from. Lol...just sayin

You can call it what you like, but as someone stated before, he has enough time in to qualify for a pension and other benefits. Professional football isn't a "normal" industry or career. How do you know if he is unempolyed or not? He may have already started another career before he "retired" from football.

Brodie wasn't a star in the NFL. I understand that. But what has he done to the BAMA nation that we would make fun of one of our own? He came to BAMA when it probably was in his best interest to go elsewhere. We were down on talent, especially offensive line. That caused him to take a beating his entire college career. I think people forget the separated shoulders & rib injuries early in his career.

Heard John Croyle speak at our church a couple of months ago - he implied that Brodie turned down an offer from the Dolphins last year during their QB saga. Not saying it is or isn't true, just passing along what was said.
