SIAP Measurement surprises for Bama Players in Senior Bowl

One good and two not so good.
Upshaw was even bigger than expected at 270 lbs and apparently carries it well.
Maze was shorter than expected at 5'7" that will hurt his draft status.
Smelley weighed in lighter than expected and some are saying now he is too small for tight end and will likely have to transition to another position.

That's not always an easy thing. A good friend of mine, Richard Dickson TE recently graduated from Lsu got picked up by the lions it was extremely difficult carrying weight even with professional nutritionists. He is very similar in size to Smelley.

Not surprised at Maze's height. I've stood next to him and I tower over him and I'm only 5'11". If he can make plays, height won't matter. However, is at a slight disadvantage from the beginning.
