I had a feeling it was going to be harsh as much as the Goodell likes to protect the players. Didn't think it would be this harsh.

Hmm. I think the Saints were used as an example. I'm not really a big big Saints fan unless Mark begins getting more carries, but the hammer the other poster mentioned was a selective one. Coaches orchestrating spying on other teams is completely over the top, yet some reason those Patriots got comparatively a slap on the wrist.

Saints should sue the NFL. Maybe the fans should bring a class action suit against the NFL. The NFL just killed the Saints franchise as constructed as this could be their last run at a Super Bowl. I wish I was a class action lawyer! $$$$$$

I really don't understand this.

Players get paid to perform correct?
Players should get paid bonuses for above average performance correct?

Business directors get paid a base salary correct?
Business directors get paid bonuses based on goal performance correct?

Now if these were lined up to say "5K for breaking a leg" or something of that matter then there is definitely something wrong. Lets not kid ourselves people this is a contact sport the bigger the hit the more we the fans like it. So what is the penalty for laying the wood in a good clean fashion, there isn't one is there? No, so why can't a bonus be structured off it. I'm betting if a lawyer was in this to begin and help structure these 'bonus' contracts none of this bull crap would have been seen as dirty.

I don't have a problem with a team having a contract with their defense that states. "Take out the opposing quarterback in a clean non penalized hit and receive a bonus" That is why we have an offensive line and protective gear on. Before long we will be able to just shed all the pads and hold hands and sing together and the best in tune group will win. THIS IS FOOTBALL....
