Christ promised those who follow him will suffer as he did, and there is so much good that can come from suffering. Through suffering the Glory of God is so often revealed, and if that weren't the case then Christ would not have died for us. "Blessing" isn't about money and, as much as some people would love for it to be the case, it's not about quality of life in this world. Believers don't store up treasures on this earth but treasures in Heaven, and the way God disperses financial Blessings on this earth is 100% according to His purpose. You're right, there are a lot of people that will be successful in this life that do not live for God, but I highly encourage those people to call on the name of the LORD for both this life and the next, because a man can pile up all the worldly possessions he could ever get his hands on but at the end of his life he will look back and realize that all those possessions amounted to nothing.

I'm going to get out of this thread for fear of being argumentative because that's the last thing I would ever want to do in regard to the LORD. I just want to say that God loves every single person that's read this thread, period. The believer and unbeliever, both are His children and no one is above or beneath another in the eyes of Christ. We are all His favorite, yet we are all equal, and nothing is more imprtant to Him than each and every one of us as individuals. We are His most prized possession and nothing else comes close.
