I'm surprised Phyliss hasn't posted this yet. Apparently one of the cons of F$U going to the Tejas-12 is because the ACC is to UNC-Centric. RTR.

If they think the ACC is too Carolina centric, wait until they get to the Big 12 and figure out what Texas-centric means.

FSU appears schizophrenic right now. They don't like where they are, not sure where they should be and may not be truly welcomed anywhere anymore. Sad.

"In the memo, Barron includes reasons for moving that include "The ACC is too North Carolina centric" and "The Big 12 contract (which actually isn't signed yet) is rumored to be 2.9 M more per year than the ACC contract."
I think it is more about the money - Lord knows the Big 12 is more "Texas centric" than the ACC is with NC.

FSU is just trying to get some love, like a minipulative teenage girl angling for a party invitation. If they were trying to pit one against the other for negotiation leverage, I think the TX rep killed it for them. Either way, WEAK!

What F$U has failed to take into account is that if they do join the Tejas-9 they will be in the division with Kansas, Iowa St., K-State, ect, with the Tejas schools rotated in. They also have to take into account that it is cheaper to fly into Boston, D.C., and Syracuse than it is Ames, Manhattan, and Lawrence. RTR.

$ talks; the ACC may not be all that and a bag of chips, but it makes more sense for FSU than any Texas based conference ever could. Now, FSU to the SEC makes a lot of sense, but I suspect that will never happen, not that I have any inside information about anything (too much knowledge can be a burden; ignorance can be blissful)

I agree. I read a Dr Saturday article over lunch today that basically stated that F$U couldn't compete in the Tejas-12, and wouldn't be able to compete for at least 5 years. The basic premise is that F$U wouldn't be able to compete with the Tejas-12 schools moneywise. RTR.
