100% agree. I don't think this new trend is good for football. It comes to a point (generally in BCS Chmpionship games) where we just want to see teams line up & play football.

I don't like it either. But with the majority of teams doing at least some of it now. I don't see the NCAA stopping it.

Agree or disagree the only thing that matters is winning. Teams will use it if they believe it gives them an advantage

The authorities,NCAA/SEC ,won't do anything about it because it is intended to equalize a talent gap and that has been a major thrust of policy for some years now.

I think obviously, when your unable to substitute more, that leads to players on the field being more tired, and being more tired will lead to injuries during the game. It makes sense. I don't have any statistics, but it makes sense.

I do like how people will nail him down for this....when we've obvsiously struggled against these high tempo offenses(g).

I agree that it will not be stopped. Maybe we can mend a rule where you can substitute after the offense picks up a 1st down or something like that? I don't see it happening, but I see his point.

It's a natural consequence of the growing disparity between the haves and have nots in college football. The "smaller" teams have to attack an opponent in an asymmetric way to gain any kind of advantage, and that can only really be done on the offensive side since you naturally seek to avoid contact with the other team. You cant really blame them. This is a structural problem in college football itself, not a schematic problem at the team level.

I agree. The problem is that when a team can't have a roster of huge lineman to push people around, then they have to adapt to what they can do. And most teams can't do what Alabama does and so they try to spread you out and throw it all over the yard.
