I think this is somewhat unusual. Most of the food stamp cases I know of go through the AG's office and end up with agreements for restitution to be paid in exchange for a reduction in the charge to a misdemeanor. I'm sure there is more to this story. I always heard he was a high character guy. Good people do sometimes make poor decisions.

This is rather alarming to me. I was friends with him in high school and at Bama. He was always a really high character guy. He comes from an exceptional family and they're all incredibly intelligent. This kid tore it up in my AP Calculus class at Shades Valley.
I just don't get it.

I also went to Shades Valley with Saleem. I ask that everyone continues to pray for him and his family. Here's the statement he put out on facebook:
"It's not easy being a Muslim in America, even more so in Alabama. To those of you who know me thank you for your support during these trying times. Not sure what one of the charges even means. The Majority know what I'm all about so there is no explanation needed, not sure why this is even news. God has blessed me to easily provide for my family. Again I thank all my friends for your messages and support."
