State is not going 8-4. 7-5 max. Florida better hope they turn in better than 7-5.

Have you looked at MSU's returning talent coupled with their schedule? I actually think they could win 9.

  • I like Florida to win at least 10 and miss st to win 9.

They need to prove it to me. They still play in the West and they haven't shown they can win against anyone other than Ole Miss. Bama, LSU, Arky all losses. TAMU and AU toss ups at best. I'd consider them losses since they haven't shown they can beat those type teams. I haven't even looked at who they play out of the East.

    Jackson St W
Auburn W (Auburn is going to struggle offensively especially on the road)
@ Troy W (but could be a trap game coming off Aub game euphoria)
    South Al W
    Open
    @ Kentucky W
Tennessee W (I don't believe the hype on UT)
    Middle Tenn W
    @ Alabama L
TAMU L (I'm going to pick offense over defense in this instance)
    @ LSWho L
    Arkansas L
    @ Ole Miss W

I guess I was wrong about 9 wins. Quickly going through their schedule I predict 8 wins. Lots of toss ups though (Aub, Tennessee, TAMU and potentially Arkysaw under John L.).

  • Why the love for MSU? They're a spread option team without a spread option QB. They've got mediocre backs as Ballard is OK but nothing special. Their defense does have a couple of good players but they lost their absolute best player (or 2) on the DL.

They also have yet to beat an SEC West team not named Ole Miss. Why the love?

Ballard is actually gone. He and those DL kinda were "it" in terms of impact players for them last year.

I was actually discussing this in a thread about the AU prediction. Why is MSU, who has never beaten an SEC West team outside Ole Miss, the predicted upset over AU when A&M and Vandy aren't? Every year under Mullen the media anoints them to start the season, and every year they don't really do anything. Considering that they have done worse and worse every year under Mullen, it's hard to picture that trend changing.

not having a proven quarterback will bite them in the butt......just watch

I guess Shane thinks Yeldon will flip to Bama after he enrolls at Auburn. Brilliant. Sell those subscriptions, BOL.” - TIGER

  • They've played Auburn close in the non Cam years and this year's game is in Starkville. Its college football and every team is replacing a big time play maker on both sides of the ball.

I don't think they are getting "love" as much as they have a favorable schedule with some teams that a lot of us think are going to be awful (Kentucky, Tennessee and Auburn).

This could be a 8 or 9 win team that next year is back to 6 wins. Their projected record says more about their opponents than it does about MSU and Mullen.

Driskel was a big time prospect who had the misfortune of having to face our defense with having little to no preparation.

I think both are as proven as half the QBs in the league. However, their defense might be the best in the league and I believe that the offense will do its best to limit turnovers and get out of the way of the defense.

Well when all I know is he looked awful every time I saw him last year. Didn't he get hurt in the LSU game?

Driskell was hurt in the Bama game and didn't play against LSwho.

    Brissett started the LSwho game.

Both were true freshmen and not prepared to play. Weiss barely gave them any snaps heading in to the season and put everything in to Brantley. When we hurt Brantley they were toast.

Every team in the SEC is going to struggle offensively if they are having to start the 3rd string QB who is also a True Freshman. That was problem was made worse by having Weiss as the offensive coordinator.

They very nearly beat Auburn WITH Cam.
