A non-lawyer friend of mine just said that Auburn hiring Shawn Watson as HC would be like my law firm hiring him because he had watched Law and Order. Thought that was good and wanted to share.

Barn officials threw out that name yesterday as a replacement for Jim Chizik.
They get a yes man and Dye/Lowder continue their recruiting antics.

I think we should stop with the jokes and support coach watson as the coach for our in-state brethren. I know we are all hurt by the decision to let go coach nipples, but this is no way to greet coach watson. I believe that he is the right man for the job & will have them back to bowl eligibility in a short 3-5 years. Roll Tide and war eagle!

Auburn is not hiring Watson. I think the point of PM's story is that the President is ultra clueless -- by retaining Jacobs, who appears to be selling out his best friend and is mentioning Watson as a candidate.

From what I understand ...
There are two competing camps at Auburn.
Camp A. Hearing a lot of names, as you guys are. Not sure there is a leading candidate at this time.
Camp B. Big proponents of Bobby Petrino.
Don't know more than that at this time. I really don't think there is a viable candidate vetted at this time /

I know it's all wishful booger thinking but...
The Fisher thing just blows my mind... Do they really think that he would ever consider? I know his kid is down there but to me it would be like walking into the same situation that Fisher dealt with @ the Titans (Bud Adams = Dye/Lowder)...

The last coaching search they got rejected by several people before settling on Chizik who had a losing record and was about to get fired. Chizik has set them back several years, almost to the UT stand point..which I think him dearly :).
Hopefully, this next coaching search will allow them to hire someone like John L. Smith or Joker Phillips.

Absolutely. Maybe Bama fans can turn out at the airport en masse to welcome him. Imagine the setting...1,000 Bama fans showing up at the airport to celebrate the arrival of the new Barn football coach.
