Should UCLA lose on purpose this weekend?

  • No team goes out to lose on purpose. UCLA probably believes that can beat Oregon. To finish in the top ten you need to beat the best. I just don't see it.

    Sure. The question itself is moronic to a competitor. You don't work your ass off 365 days a year to lay down and lose for anybody. Ever. You don't duck challenges. You seek them. Every coach and player on that team wants to go to Oregon and win a title. The "take a loss" mentality is one of shame. Does that help and "add value"?

    I don't think Coach Saban really cares who lines up across the line of scrimmage. Have we not heard him say you play to a standard? A standard of being the absolute best player that you can be on every single down until the game clock hits 0:00! So no, the thought never crosses a champions mind! If it does, you simply not playing to a championship standard!

  • Anybody can be beat. UCLA shouldn't be afraid to play anybody, especially Oregon. The first real team Oregon played this year beat them into submission and shut their unstoppable offense down. If anything, ucla should come into a potential game with oregon knowing that they can be shut down. Like Vinny Vega said, beat Stanford then beat anybody else they put in front of you. Oregon is not good enough to lose a game to avoid playing.
