I finally have a chance to respond to this thread - thank you for the nice compliments.
Last night was I was actually finishing up all the changes to "100 Things Crimson Tide Fans Should Know & Do" and determined to get through it when all the tweets and messages started flying about an alleged shooting on The Strip and that there may be a player involved.
There's not too many people you can call at 3 a.m. about a story, so grabbed my car keys. Apparently I just missed the police at the scene, but was able to talk with some people and continued to work on the story through the early morning hours. The more I looked into it, the more it was obvious that the rampant rumors of someone being shot were not true, which we made pretty clear on the site.
So yes, it was an incredibly long night for me, but I'd rather have no shooting and trouble pinning down the specifics than a shooting and having the story.
Oh, and I hate jagermesiter - nasty stuff.
