Siran Stacy spoke at a mens church group last week and

  • a close friend of mine was there. He said the talk was amazing. Siran talked about lessons learned for Alabama and of course his family tragedy and how that effected his life.

However, my friend was very surprised when Siran started talking about gays and quoting bible versus about gays and saying how it was a sin etc. I mean he spent a good amount of time on it. I just don't understand why he was preach against a group of people like that while giving a talk.
I personally wish people weren't gay but I do believe they were born that way and have no control over it so why attack them? Especially a former Tide player!

For the record, no homo and am against gay marriage. For civil unions and equal rights though. RTR

  • Truth is truth and it sounds as if Mr. Stacy is unafraid of telling the truth. The world needs more Siran Stacy's.

You're saying gays have no control over whether they have sex with dudes? Why didn't Petrino use this defense? Double-standard, anyone?

Is your group composed of some thin, neat dudes who dress stylishly, and speak with lisps?

If so perhaps he just assumed.

  • I live by what it says in the bible.

"let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

I have my own problems. I don't have time to worry about what type genitalia someone prefers. I'll let St Peter handle that one.

You are being judgmental of Siran.

As long as they don't prefer my genitalia. That would be a problem for me.

They may have control over sex with dudes, but i don't think they have control over the fact that a naked dude makes them hard. Kinda like how i can't control that a naked woman makes me hard.

You always have a choice about where to put your wang. But as we know, it has a mind of it's own.

  • My gay friends who are in loving, monogamous relationships and who by the way are Christians (I hate to use the word b/c it is used loosely) impress me more with the way they live than the hordes of people who sleep around with anybody and everybody. The words of Christ say NOTHING about sexual preference.
The Bible says you can kill your daughter if she displease you, but I have never considered that even once, no matter how mad mine makes me.

I'm not saying Siran is a sinner who will burn in hell. I just think it's not his business. Why worry about what someone else's sex life? It just seems weird that people think about that stuff. It did make me wonder about why they think about gay people so much.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

Something about disobedient children being stoned at the town gates? There are several things in the bible that you cannot take literally. Whip their butts, occasionally i can see. But kill them? Probably not a good idea.

    Leviticus 18:22
"Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin."

    1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people-none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

  • Sorry, wasn't said by Christ. Also Paul said women should speak in church. I am sure he had a reason for that.
Christ gave only 2 commandments. Love God and love your neighbor, that is it.

Read the Bible. There is a lot there that one would not want to do.
I am so tired of "Christians" being exclusionary. Christ said HE is the way. He said nothing about excluding you from his kingdom. Also please note the translation from the Greek in this scripture has errors. Men who translated from the original text had their own agendas. Research the original Greek. You may be surprised what that passage really says.

And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ “and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?’” (Matt. 19:4.)

“For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” (John 5:46-47.)

See my post directly above. Direct quotes from Christ, and I'm well aware of what it says.
