Six Alabama players set to play in Senior Bowl

The Senior Bowl won't announce the Alabama players until next week, but according to the SEC six Crimson Tide players have received invitations. Here's the full SEC list:

Last we heard from Chapman he was still thinking about whether to play (knee), and Maze obviously might miss now due to his hamstring.
No one from Alabama will play in the other All-Star games, the Casino Del Sol game in Tucson on Jan. 16 or the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg on Jan. 21.

I agree. I am kind of surprised he did not get an invite. I am hoping my Skins draft him in the later rounds but i dont see them doing that.

Senior bowl is only for players that have used up all of their college eligibility.

Would love to see Brandon Gibson get an invite. He is a native Mobile and has been an amazing ambassador to not only the Bama football team, but the University of Alabama as a whole.

True... but this needs to change. If the kid has declared, they should let him "showcase" his talents, if he and they choose to do so. IMO.

I think one of the other All-star games allows juniors. It would make for a better game but it would limit some of the exposure these seniors who are out of options get. The game only has 100 or so players, around 50 each team, so as much as we would like all of Bama's seniors to get a look it just defeats the purpose, which is showcase the best seniors for the NFL guys. 6 is probably the most you will see from 1 team. you might see more but it would have to be a down year for seniors in the draft. What usually happens is there's always injuries or some other reason guys can't make it. Maybe some of our guys can be alternates. A lot of them are usually in town for the game anyway.
I'll be in there for the opening ceremonies to cheer the bama 6, if I make it out of tent city in time. Always look forward to this game. The tailgating at the SB is always a blast.
