So now ESPN projects us in the Outback Bowl?

  • Brad Edwards has us losing to UGA and going to the Outback Bowl. The other ESPN guy has us losing to UGA and playing in the Cotton Bowl. 2 weeks ago these clowns were discussing whether we could beat an NFL team. UGA plays terrible but escapes the Cocktail Party and then destroys a hapless barn team and now they are world beaters. We lose a game so now we obviously aren't that good and UGA will hand it to us.

I know it will work itself out regardless but does anyone else find this comical? I hope our players hear all this. I think we do much better when we have a chip on our shoulders anyway.

  • This is amazing to me. TAMU is a team that would work UGA over. And UGA has struggled with the likes of Kentucky and Buffalo this year. They got absolutely pantsed by South Carolina.

But we lose by 5 points to a really strong team a week after we had a 15 rounder with LSU - and all of the sudden we're not good enough to hang with UGA? What a joke.

UGA is 1-1 vs ranked teams this year. And their 1 came against a team who almost lost in consecutive weeks to Missouri and La Laf.

  • Don't listen to ESPN they are ass clowns....

  • This is a good thing. The last thing we need is for us to show up in Atlanta and expect GA to lay down.

  • Good. That way when we beat Georgia it makes it harder for them to discredit that victory.

I agree it's a good thing. I still find it funny how these clowns operate. If any of the 3 undefeated teams lose, they'll all come back and tell the world they knew it was going to happen and followers will lap it up.

  • It's an overreaction. A 5 point upset loss doesn't automatically make us a middle of the pack SEC team. I think the Cotton Bowl or Capital One Bowl is a worst case scenario. My guess is we end up in a BCS bowl even if the teams ahead of us don't lose.

It's funny to me how after A&M beat us, all the talking heads think SEC teams should run the spread. Aren't both teams playing in the SEC championship pro-style offenses? The spread is just like 3 point shooting in basketball. When you are hot, it's the best thing in the world but in actuality the percentages of consistent success are pretty low. If we were to play them again next week, the game could be totally different.

ESPN promotes whatever is hot at the moment. Spread times like Oregon and Texas A&M are hot this week. If another top team loses, they will change their tune again.

  • With an easy games over the next two weeks and two more weeks to prepare for UGA, we will beat UGA. Give Saban two weeks to prepare and he'll beat you every time.

EXACTLY!!!! Also, we have 2 weeks to get healthy and re-focus on the task at hand...

  • It has nothing to do with UGA and everything to do with BAMA. We have not played BAMA football for two consecutive weeks against the best two football teams we've played all season. That's what the talking heads are looking at. Granted we did pull out the LSU game, but we did get dominated in the second half, then followed that up by aTm hanging 20 on us right out of the gate. If BAMA wants the respect of the national media we are going to have to earn it and beat UGA convincingly. It's a "what have you done for me lately" world, especially in college football.

  • What he's projecting is that Alabama loses to Georgia and that all the other SEC teams keep winning. The Tide could actually be the sixth SEC team chosen in the bowl order because there are so many teams right behind it. Hate to tell you, but it actually could happen.

True to some extent. But UF twice & AU ran a spread offense in the SEC & won 3 BCS Titles between them. So the spread has proven it can win championship's in football's best conference.

Yes. As long as you have 2 of the best college football players ever, the spread can win championships.

  • It's overreaction Monday!!! We will beat uga and be in a bcs game. We have some things to work on but we are still the best team and the problems will get fixed. Hats off to manzeil, but we won't see another qb who can stress our defense like that.

Yes...& those two plus Vince Young won't likely be the only 3 to come along in the future either.

Sure it COULD happen, as could 15 million other scenarios. I just think it's a joke how quickly they jump on and off bandwagons and yet they are viewed as experts with keen insight.

  • It's not a terrible pick right now. They've gotten better all season, may be hitting their stride at the right time. We're a little beat up and tired. I think we match up well with them, but we're gonna have to fix some coverage miscues when we play them. If we can play alot of young guys the next two weeks, I think we'll be in alot better position. Good thing we don't play that game this week.

Agreed. I think we enter ATL as a 5 point favorite or so. UGA's offense has the potential to really shred us though. Their defense, when playing well, is one of the best as well. I think UGA is about equal with Texas A&M. Anyone who think A&M would work UGA is kidding themselves.
