  • Never in a million years did I think that Coach Saban would come...I actually wanted and thought our best option at the time was Paul Johnson.

I'm glad Mal got his man... I was ELATED when I heard Coach Saban was coming.

I'll be man enough and say I (a) didn't think Saban would come until very late in the hiring process and (b) liked what RR was doing at WVU and he was my top choice until, well, that whole fiasco.

This - I admit. Always wanted Saban but did not think it would happen due to timing,

  • I thought Shula deserved another year, when he was fired my first pick would have been Gruden. I hated the RR talk, I viewed him like I saw Price, I hated the Offense they ran and didn't think it was a fit for Alabama.

When they signed CNS I was not thrilled at first. I viewed him as a hired gun and wondered how long he would stay and if he would embrace the Alabama tradition. I have warmed to CNS slow but am now a big fan. My like for CNS has nothing to do with NC or wins and loses. I admire the way he makes our players graduate, handle themselves, he is teaching them how to be men not just ball players. Looking back I see his hire was the best that could have been made, we have the best of all worlds with CNS. RTR
