Extremely talented group of backs. If I had to compare any backs to McFadden it would be Henry. Tall back, runs upright, with elite power and speed to go along with a great stiff arm. Spring will be fun but we get deeper in fall. Think Jones and Henry get significant carries this year. Don't think we get anything from Hart now that he has had two knee surgeries. Rooting for him though. Fowler gets less carries than in past imo.

Saban had some pretty good backfields at LSU that had the potential to be great: Alley Broussard, Joseph Addai, Justin Vincent and Shyrone Carey. More recently, the Arkansas trio of McFadden, Jones and Hillis wasn't bad either.

With Williams and Calloway gone and OJ developing, it will be interesting to see if Fowler can be a hybrid, Smelley type guy. Knock you on your tail if you think we will pass. Run by you if you think we will run. He didn't look good catching the ball last spring but had shoulder issues. If he can catch as well as some have said he can, he could be a great third and short run/receiver option kind of like and Upchurch and Smelley mixture. We have many backs who can run and catch, but one with some thump to knock a guy on his tail via blocking when they flood the field with dbs might be interesting. He seems to be kind of like ron dayne in that you look at his size and think larry czonka, but when you watch him run, it is just not a power game. He just needs some touches if he can get them. Yep. Fowler was destroying people in the Michigan game. Hope he makes a full recovery for 2013.
