  • Thanks, TR. I can't wait to see what Lacy accomplishes this year. Like you said, if he can stay healthy, a lot of people are going to know his name by the end of the year. I love the depth of this group and the different skills each of them brings to the table. 4th quarters against worn down defenses should be really fun.

  • Gotta say, I'm confused by "moderate" for TF contribution - I feel like there's virtually a 100% chance that a TF contributes at RB this season with Yeldon...may not start, but will almost certainly contribute in some way. In fact, I can't think of a single position where a true freshman is more likely to get PT (maybe Cooper at WR) .

  • The only RB Yeldon reminds me of is Eric Dickerson but he catches the ball better than Dickerson. I'm not saying he is as good as ED just that Yeldon reminds me of ED. ED had that upright smooth running style & didn't look that fast but never got caught & if he was even with the defender it was a TD. ED never caught passes in college & that part of his game never developed but Yeldon looks to have very good hands. Should be fun watching Yeldon develop his freshman year. bol14

  • Yeldon has top end speed probably a 4.4 guy.

  • Thoughts on Kenyan Drakes contribution? I see him almost in the same mold as TJ. Matter of fact, I see Yeldon as the new prototype of a Bama back. Tyren Jones and Alvin Kamara further this suspicion IMO.

Are you talking about their ability to catch the ball out of the backfield as well, because of the guys last year were at least 6'1" & Jones/Kamara are both 5'9"/5'10" respectively, according to their profiles.

I only looked it up because I didn't remember either of those guys, especially Kamara, being as big as TJY. I was actually a little surprised to see how big Tenpenny is. Although, it's not surprising, TJY's size & speed at RB is what sets him apart, IMO.

I think a good comparison would be Darren McFadden only I'm not sure Yeldon has the top end speed McFadden had when he was at Arkansas. McFadden was a big, tall and powerful guy but he also had 4.3 speed. I remember him stiff arming Roman Harper as a true freshman on the way to a long TD run. Not sure Yeldon can do something like that yet. He definitely has the same kind of physique, vision and power though.

Yeldon, IMO, favors Arkansas's current RB, Knile Daviis, more than McFadden. Watching some highlights of Davis, Yeldon seems to have a very similar runnning style and similar build. Yeldon also reminds me of recent OU running back, Demarco Murray.

Good ones. For me, when looking solely at past UA RBs, Yeldon looks a little like Glen Coffee. Little bit of an upright style and taller than guys like Ingram and Richardson. Maybe some pre-knee injury Kerry Goode, too.

Dickerson shouldn't feel bad as Green also ran down another Hall of Fame Speedy RB that also won a Heisman Trophy.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

  • Pretty damn amazing to have 3 5 stars at RB within 2 years. Add Lacy and Ingram and we have been very fortunate.
