Staff: 3 Best Defensive Players?

  • You mentioned in the War Room that the three best defensive players heading into Fall Camp were VS, AH and CJ Moseley. Was wondering if you might be able to clarify what you meant or maybe perhaps even describe the source.

They way I figure it, if all three of those guys are considered better than Lester, D Milliner, Nico and Jesse already, we are in pretty good shape.

TIA and thanks for the War Room! This site continues to widen the gap between it and the competitors.

  • No way vinnie is better than nico or lester right now. I thought the same thing.

From the combinations of leadership, play-making ability and work ethic those 3 have stood out the most. Not a knock on any of the others guys and obviously all 11 starters on defense for Alabama are going to be talented. So selected any 3 is good room for debate.

Thanks for clarifying Tim. I'm glad to hear Hubbard and Vinnie are impressing at such a high level. We already feel comfortable with the JW, Square, Stinson, Nico, CJ, Milliner, and Lester on defense (and Vinnie for the most part in from his experience last year).

The thought of this year's defense having similar mental lapses as the 2010 defense had at times is slowly diminishing in my mind. Hopefully, Fulton, Belue, and HaHa (and whoever else may contribute) have increased their knowledge of the defense to a level that gives CNS/CKS the confidence to run their exotic packages early and often this year.
