Credit goes to huskypup in a thread that was deleted.
Get rid of the water cooler.
Instead, when someone creates a post, he checks the topic box similar to the VIP box now. Examples of topics would be Alabama football, basketball, other college football, Off topic, etc.
When someone visits the round table, there should be a drop down menu at the top that allows you to view all topics, just bama football, just off topic, etc. that way those of us who want to view the off topic threads dont have to go to the cooler in which no one ever visits and threads go to die.
This would allow the staff to just regroup a thread that was labelled wrong instead of moving it to the cooler. No more work for mods on duty.
This would streamline the site and be a great improvement IMO

It's obvious there is a lot of resentment for one off tropic thread being endorsed to stay on the front page in perpetuity while all others are immediately flushed as evidenced by the repeated attacks on that thread. Something like this could fix all that and not give the impression of favoritism .

No, nothing like that. More people should join in on that thread. There's really no "continuity" to it, anyone could jump right in the conversation. The idea was to have the largest thread on the 247 network. Even Lucky liked the idea, that's why it has been allowed to stay on the RT.

I actually started a new thread about it (I wasn't the reason that thread was toasted), but here's what it says for consolidation's sake:
I think it would be really cool to do away with multiple "boards" within the BOL site, and instead give each thread a subject. Then, you could filter the board to only show subjects you want. So if you don't want to see OT threads or baseball threads, they dissappear. If you want to see everything, it's there. I would think it would encourage the board to be more organized, especially because people would be less tempted to post an OT thread as a football thread. Thoughts?
