1) The AL-AU game is always bad. I almost don't like going because it always showcases those fans who paid 200-300 dollars for a ticket so they feel entitled to do or say anything, and they're the ones who only go so they can win and rub it in someone else's face. I don't really feel the alcohol/abuse factor is really that much worse overall.
2) What I definitely think has gotten worse is the entitlement factor. I got really irritated with some people sitting near us a few games ago who were super nice before the game, but yelled at the team the whole game. This wasn't TAM (therefore, we won handily), but they screamed any time our SEC opponent got a first down. If the other team threw to a player uncovered due to a blitz, the wife screamed about how our defense is crap and blah blah blah. People don't get that we aren't a "bend but don't break" defense (we allow some big plays as a trade for more pressure), and a college team can't expect to beat conference foes 49-0 ever week. People have just gotten more focused on complaining over the 1 TD drive than cheering for the 5 3 and outs.
Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear.
I don't understand why so many people care about the actions of others. If a chick wants to cuss like a sailor then why should you care? If someone wants to drink too much and make a fool out of themselves then more power to them. Anytime you go somewhere with 100,000+ people, there are going to be some bad apples. Stop acting like Bama fans should set the standards. Every stadium on Saturdays has people acting a fool. The students are always going to get crunk, people are always going to cuss and drink, and someone is going to do/say something that you don't like. That's life, not Bryant Denny Stadium. Get over it.
