I dont understand why his speed continues to get questioned. Didn't milliner run a couple sub 4.4 40s as a recruit? I'm sure these were hand timed, but I think they were at one of the combines.

Probably 2 is more truthful. He started out of necessity most of 2010 and took some pretty big lumps learning the system. Last year he was the 3rd DB but "started" a lot of games as we played a lot of nickel. This year was his first year starting as a boundary guy bc he was prepared to start.

Excellent analysis from Rob Rang but that's just piss poor work from Dane Brugler. Milliner's review is almost completely backwards, it's almost as if he accidentally pulled Dre Kirkpatrick's notes from last year and those included a few mistakes. He is just so wrong.

When I was reading the article I was thinking the same thing. I knew he was the starter as a True Fr & playing more of the 3rd corner in his 2nd yr with as much nickel as we play should qualify him as a 3 yr starter

Semantics. He was a three year starter. Nickel, dime whatever he was on the field pretty much the whole game form3 yrs. The NFL guys evaluations are way off on Fluker and Milliner IMO.
I agree that Fluke does not have the quickness for LT, the comment about him not driving his legs & letting defenders disengage is ridiculous. Every OL gets beat from time to time but Fluke finishes blocks better than 99% of the OL's I've seen in 30 plus years of watching cfb.

That's cool. Not arguing that Milliner didn't play a ton over the last three seasons; just pointing out that the guy wasn't wrong based on what qualifies as a "starter" (for the 2011 season, at least). Bottom line: he got invaluable experience at both corner and star in the nation's top league. Experience won't be an issue.
