Heard similar expletives about CNS from friends that worked the locker room areas @ the Rose Bowl ..... Said the same thing that while CNS may be an A-Hole he is our A-Hole.

Also, love Punta Mita and the Nicklaus course played it 3 times one vacation a couple years ago ..... Great course the "Tail of the Whale" hole is a killer was fortunate to birdie one time!

Cool post. I think everyone in the country is starting to believe the same thing. CNS is a machine with a system that is the best that CFB has ever seen.
Also thanks for the added flavor with the golf plug. I hope to get down there one day and will remember what you said.

On a related note - I was thinking the other day about how good this program is, and the proof is in how our rivals and top detractors talk about CNS. Have you ever noticed....they don't say "he'll eventually stop winning"??

It's ALWAYS "CNS will eventually get bored and ___________." (either retire to the lake, go coach in the NFL again, go rebuild another major program like Texas, etc.) They fully understand that once this train got rolling, it wasn't stopping until we stopped it ourselves. And we aren't stopping for anyone.

Interesting comments from the LSU guy, but someone should ask him this:

1. If Saban really grinds through coaches, why do we have very little turnover, and why do coaches come back and work for him a second time?
2. If he really likes Miles, but says that the LSU power brokers screwed up by not going to get Saban when he wanted to come back to college, then what he's saying is that Miles should have been fired...right before Miles won the BCS. Miles had just gone 22-4 in two years, with utter beatdowns of Miami and Notre Dame in the ChikFilA and Sugar Bowls...and then went on to win the national championship in 2007...but the player says that MIles should have been fired after 2006 and they should have hired Saban. Even though he likes Miles. Makes zero sense. But, then again, he's an LSU guy, so that's not surprising.

Ya know a man is "driven" when he's just won one of the greatest SEC Championship games ever, getting a chance to win back to back NCs and just as the game is over while everybody is wildly celebrating, going nuts, he takes out a piece of paper from his pocket and writes "banquet" on it...always thinking ahead, always planning. I love it, love it, and sure do appreciate it!!

Every thing is hindsight during this guys conversation. I live here in Louisiana and yes everyone here gets it, they want Saban back they wish he was there, they would trade him for Miles. Right now Saban for Miles is an excellent trade for them... but you are right as well AT the TIME that Saban came back most LSU fans were very bitter at how he left them and were only really mad that he decided to go to Bama. How were they going to get ride of Miles he was winning... at the time they knew how good Saban was but the euphoria they were living that LSU was unbeatable, most people felt like Miles was going to be just as good.

I don't believe this LSU guy was making this up, however he has the benefit when he tells his story that right now they wish they had tossed Miles for Saban when he left Miami. Obviously then, even if they wanted to they couldn't get rid of Miles. Even right now as much as people may want to they understand that they can't get rid of Miles... many complain others continue to pump him up like he is a hero, because as long as he wins 9-10 games a season what are they going to do.

I have a couple of interesting stories about Saban from when he was at LSU and some comparisons of Miles to Saban. I will try and share them soon

This is what I was going to say. Miles had a very successful first 2 seasons at LSU. There is no way LSU could've fired Miles and re-hired Saban at that point. They would've been absolutely lambasted by the media and Miles would have sued them to hell and back. I understand what the player is trying to say though. They likely knew he would be ultra successful at Alabama but their hands were tied and couldn't legitimately go hire him back but looking back now, I bet they wish they had just done it and dealt with the consequences...haha.

It's not like Miles hasn't done a great job at LSU though. He's won them a national title, played in another national title game, won a couple SEC titles, and he's won 23 games the last two years. If we don't go on that amazing drive down in Death Valley this past year there is a good chance LSU goes to the national title game and whips Notre Dame. He's no Saban but he's no slouch either.
