TX is the easiest job in the country and I don't think thats arguable. #1 (and its not close) program in a talent filled state & they do not have to go elsewhere for top recruits.
No "it" factor? Like UGA?
The "it" factor comment is a bunch of bunk. Before 1980 did Miami have the "it" factor? TX is a nationally known brand and has a solid championship level tradition. The problem is they have not been consistent and this is because they have not had the right guy at the helm as the OP pointed out. Is there a guy on the planet in any line of work who has done less with more over the last two years than MB?
UGA is similar but their tradition and history are not as strong as TX & they have to compete with a lot more schools to keep GA talent at home. RIcht has been similar to MB in the whole doing less with more routine though.
If I was a HC the top two crown jewels for me would be:
#1 TX - Great fan support, big money, national attention, easiest recruiting on planet earth #2 LSux - Great lunatic fan support, big money, national attention (over the last decade) & absolutely no instate competition for athletes. All you have to do is lock down LA and cherry pick TX, FL, AL & MS
Now don't get me wrong, I hate Lsux and I especially hate TX for what they've done to cfb the last two years but these are the best two jobs in the country IMO when it comes to sustainability, easy recruiting & winning. A lot of other great coaching jobs around the nation including Alabama but IMO they are all a bit harder to succeed at.
