  • Top 25 RPI, top 25 BPI, top 25 Ken Pom. Also lost 3 games in middle of season when starting PG when down to injury and had to play a true fresh. The teams they lost to in that stint. #1, 7, and 64 in RPI at the time. Since they have lost one game on road to UNC and won everything else. Also who cares about preseason predictions. Probably the most useless and dumb stat in the world.

NC states roster when Gottfried took over. Returned one player who averaged double figures from the previous year. Lost starting PG to UK when he transferred. Had to convert teams sophomore Lorenzo brown from SG to PG, which would be like us having to play Lacey at the PG position all year. Also Lacey was a 5 star unlike Brown. Also Brown had never played point at anytime in college or HS ball. They had one senior on roster, who averaged 5 points the previous year. Soph Leslie was a headcase and averaging the same as Green when Grant took over. Saying Gottfried and staff won because its a stacked roster is a joke. They won because they built the team slowly and they peaked at the end of the season. Once again if you attach Grants name to that team we would be talking about an amazing job.

I never said it wasn't a great job. It absolutely was a great job.

I was disputing your notion that NC State did not have a stacked roster.

I looked at final AP polls and have yet to review final coach poll numbers. Also you will be hard pressed to find on Grants resume a lot of top 50 RPI wins. My point though is that Grant is not a good coach. Honestly people can only remember the UK win as a big win from two years ago. Villanova and UK this year are bubble teams at their best.

I just get tired of people on here who blindly support him and call him a great coach, where as the overwhelming evidence suggests that he is merely average to good. Our previous coaches resume would destroy grants resume, and everyone single person on this board wanted him fired. Why the loyalty to a coach who hasn't won a thing? I cheer for Bama but I can step back and take a look and say that we aren't good by a long shot.

You don't even know what a freaking good coach is...you don't have a clue. After next season, you'll be harping about how even a blind squirrel can find a nut every once and a while. Yo are the worst kind of fan. CAG is an excellent coach. He knows what he is doing. You can try and distort CAG's record and contributions to the VCU and ALABAMA programs. The fact is CAG inherited a mess. The roster was devoid of talent evenly spread across classes. The guys that were talented enough were head cases and lacked a lot to be desired in the character and integrity department...sorta like you. The players on the roster were NOT built for CAGs system and there were not enough players to implement his system consistently and completely.

Most people that support CAG are not blindly doing so. You are a damn liar. Most of us feel the need to defend the program under his leadership because we know that he has been handicapped. We know that there are areas that need improvement. And you keep talking that stupid ---ish regarding CMG vs CAG vs Shaka. When CMG was winning his games, the traditional powerhouse programs were not as talented as they normally would be from top to bottom. So, CMG caught teams that we were NOT at their very best either. Shaka is winning with players that were recruited by CAG and developed initially by CAG. When he went to the Final Four, he did not have the best team on the court. His team was hot and the other teams contributed by not playing their best.

You attempt to revise history and distort the facts to support your argument and misguided ill-informed incorrect opinion. No one with a fully function brain and modicum of intelligence is buying your lame argument, BUT the one's with an agenda to fire the $1.8 million coach with the kinky hair and brown skin.

Well that's a nice accusation. You stay classy, San Diego.

This argument is illogical at best. also in Gottfried's 10 years in the league, the SEC won 3 national titles, and had every program at least once ranked in the top 25. Donovan went to 3 final fours, Brady went to a final four, Tubby won a title. We had multiple coaches goto elite eights and sweet 16's. We averaged 5.5 teams to the NCAA tourney. Yeah you're right CMG caught a lot of teams not at their best. I wonder if there is a smiley for whistling in the wind.whistling Wait there is, wahoo!!!

That would help too. Sustained success is the key though. That or topless crimsonettes.

I'd pay to see option B.
