I enjoyed it. It was unique, but they didn't try to do so much that it was unrecognizable.

Is a forum like the national championship a good place to "try" something different? I thought it was terrible and I wonder which executive heard that and thought Wow - - that would be great for the national championship. They ought to be drug tested.

hey, if it were executed well, it woulda been fine anywhere, but the guitars were NOT playing the same song....at least one of them. The drummer was on time, and the singer was singing at least decently, so most of america didn't notice, but as a guitarist...the guitarist(s) sucked...

I have two music degrees, fifteen years of piano instruction, and ministry through music was my career for 20 years. Tonight's National Anthem was sad.

That was the 2nd worse National Anthem I have ever heard, 2nd only to Roseanne Barr's atrocious vocals.

I actually liked it, but im rather partial to things outside the box. The crowd seemed to enjoy it, maybe it was better in person.

I can relate with this argument as well. There's a certain respect and traditionalism that should be met when singing the National Anthem however too many people try to go BIG and either hit treacherous notes at the top or get the words wrong. Can't put my finger on it, but maybe the fact they didn't do either of those helped me like it more than I should have?? Not sure really.

Edit: the guy who sang at the Chicago game (posted above) would have blown the roof off the arena last night IMHO.

Gotcha. I will admit, to this point I've only heard it on my phone while driving this a.m. so I'll check it out tonight on the loud speakers.
