If you have ever played, you know that very well. It's crazy, but it is that time in the South!
Still remember that smell from the early 60's and you're correct. Good recap.
Oh, might want to check "your" and "you're".

Here's what is funny. After 44 years , you will experience exactly the same memories when fall arrives.

It may sound goofy to some, but every time I walk through the tunnel at BDS, heading to my seat for the first time, my eyes well up a bit when I see that grass because I miss playing the game so badly. I can't help but think about what I may have been able to accomplish on the football had I not been such a screw up at that age. Thank the Lord He got my attention, and thank the Lord for Alabama football. Roll Tide!
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Cor 10:4

Great post. It's been 30+ years, but I know exactly what you're talking about. I only went as far as high school football but olfactory memories are strong and they still hit me in the gut every time I smell that cut grass in the summer... football practice & exactly what you describe. Worse thing than that is the smell of rain over that. Remember when it would start to rain during practice and you'd think maybe practice would rain out but then the rain stopped? Then there was just the mud, humidity making it hotter, and everything you had on was weighed down by the rain.
