***The Walking Dead (Off-topic)...

  • The Governer is the baddest of the bad. They are just revealing the tip of the iceberg with him. I'd like to see more of the background on Machonie too.

  • Yes, was a great twist that I had been waiting on for a while. I like that actor too. He's perfect in that capacity. Was worried he wasn't coming back.

The Walking Dead and Homeland are the two best shows on TV. My wife is a huge Dexter fan and Dexter has gotten DVR'ed the past two weeks for these shows. Dexter is now Monday night viewing (can't stay up late enough to also watch it on Sunday night).

Does anyone view the Governor as a villain? If so, has he done anything worse that what Rick has done in order to survive? It is a kill or be killed world.

Love Dexter. It's awesome and this year has been better. Was getting stale.

Yes, don't trust governor as it pertains to Ricks group. The closing scene of him sitting in the room with the aquariums was awesome.

I'm starting Homeland as soon as I finish Deadwood.

I love TWD. They film it like 5 minutes from where I live. I had a beer with Scott Wilson (Hershel) a few weeks ago

    That's good stuff.

Have every episode of Homeland on the DVR. Firing that up as soon as the current seasons of Dexter and TWD end. I still haven't learned that saving several seasons is a bad idea, as it usually ends in me being extremely unproductive for a week or two.

Yes, his wife may be one of my least liked characters ever.

Haha. I got sick right before the summer. Was laid up for a while and watched every Deadliest Catch during that time. So I understand.

Which makes her a terrific actress I'm assuming. Just something about her not to like. LOL

  • If you are as much of a TWD nerd as I,, there is a great TWD forum Roamersandlurkers.com. It is a cool and well moderated site and they have lots of spoilers but they use a neat spoiler tagging system so you have to click on the spoiler to see it.

  • I've read the first issue of the graphic novel, and went to the TWD wikipedia page which has a great overview of what happens through the graphic novel series. I like the TV show has been somewhat true to the original, but like they have said on The Talking Dead (must see each week) TV allows then to do some different things. I think the character development in the TV series is great, and more in-depth than what one can do in graphic novels.
I know what happens in the novels between the Governor and Rick's group, and who does not survive. I can't wait to see how this season plays out.

I randomly rewatched the first episode of BB last night and didn't realize how much I also dislike his wife. She makes a snide remark about every possible situation. They wrote her character to not be liked. It starts in her first scene of the show.

If we are talking about great TV shows, then The Wire has to be mentioned. I watched all 5 seasons in about a month's time. If Homeland keeps up its pace it could challenge The Wire (IMO) as the best TV ever.

  • If every episode of BB began with Skylar getting murdered, I'd watch that show 3 times a day on Netflix.

  • I love almost every show mentioned in this thread. On Merle, it was revealed a while back that he would return in season 3 with a knife-arm contraption. They've also said that Morgan will be back at some point, but I don't think they've decided when just yet.

Dexter and Breaking Bad are incredible. I watch them religiously. I just started The Wire and I've enjoyed it so far. Also a big fan of Mad Men, House (though the cases got monotonous after a while), Castle, Firefly (must-watch TV), and a few comedies.

EDIT: Oh, and I hate Skyler White with a fiery passion. At least Lori is easy on the eyes.

EDIT 2: AMC can do whatever they want. The FCC doesn't dictate what's shown on cable. As long as the content itself doesn't violate any laws, nobody can or will stop them.

Wire is awesome. I was given boxed set for Christmas 2 years ago and just got around to watching 6 months ago. Good stuff.

In the book rise of the governor, he is a villain,, will hold judgement on the show

  • All mentioned are pretty good shows.
For those in the Atlanta area, sometimes they have open casting calls for zombies. My niece is working on the Walking Dead and Hunger Games 2 here in Atlanta with something to do with the sets. It's pretty amazing what it looks like in person versus on screen.

    1. Walking Dead - Michonne - She's pretty hard core in the comic books and not sold yet on the actress. Also, waiting to see how scary they can really make the Governor. Also, my understanding is that character fan popularity will influence some storylines as we are kinda seeing. Daryl is my favorite as well. Tim, I too am Rick wary but think that's the point so I cut him some slack.

    2. Breaking Bad- 1st 2 seasons were awesome, then I started losing interest over the drug power struggles.

    3. Mad Men - still the best show on TV; I guess because it inspires me to smoke and drink scotch.

  • Since the last episode of season 2 and the first 3 episodes of season 3, Rick has become my favorite character. He is done with the nice guy routine. It was awesome when he split the prisoners skull and locked the other prisoner out of the prison in the second episode.

I have heard that this season is much more about human vs human drama as opposed to human vs zombie drama. I think Andrea is going to start sleeping with the Governor.

Governor is definitely more of a villian/cult leader than anyone on the show so far. I think you will all be surprised at how maniacal this guy really is.

  • This is a great time of year for tv watching. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with The Walking Dead and Dexter. I'm also near the end of the first season of Homeland, so hopefully I can get into the second season. A couple of great shows that I haven't seen mentioned is Game of Thrones and Lost. If you haven't watched Lost, you should definitely check it out. It'll have you hooked right out of the gate. Well, both of them really.

Don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen Sunday episode but I think it just got super interesting this week. I had been getting bored with it. Not a fan of that sheriff or his wife but love the Daryl. Been waiting for a while on the twist that happened Sunday.

    Anyone else watching?

imo, walking dead is the best show on tv. Maybe my favorite show ever. It just keeps getting better too.
