The main concern for Alabama's d

  • is getting better in the base defense. Bama plays so much Nickel and Dime, because there are so many spread offenses on the schedule. Because of that, A team that plays I formation with a true full back becomes a bit of a new thing for our guys. Also, Bama's base defense does not include CJ Mosely.Nico and Trey dont play the pass as well as CJ.

Looking at the remaining regular season schedule, Only Auburn plays that style. The big test, and I said this before and everyone called me crazy, will be Georgia. They have a big back and they play a ton of I formation. ....I

I agree & also looking at the qb's. Murray is above Mett most would say. However...he has lost some key wr's.

  • I agree. We are a lot better with CJ Moseley in the ball game. No question!

  • UGA's o-line is a real weakness though. Everybody now realizes it, but Murray is anywhere from average to bad against good defenses.

  • Yes Murray is better then Mett overall, but Im not buying he would hit many of the small windows that Mett was hitting. That throw late in the game over Belue, really. They run that 10 more times this year and dont hit it with that tight of coverage. I think this game is being way over analyzed, any team that is in the zone and hitting on so many 3rd and longs will create issues. Ill go with what has been more typical not LSU's best game and a QB that had the game of his life that will most likley never be seen again.

Yea, UGA does run more O that we are in Base D but the LSU FB was having a great game and gave us some fits as well, UGA cant dupe that either

I agree about them being in the zone, it was crazy. If another team comes along and makes those kinds of throws and catches in tight windows against good coverage, with the rush a half step away from caving in the QB's rib cage, I'll tip my hat to them and they'll have a good shot to beat us.

I don't see it happening though. If that's what you have to do to "expose" our D, we are in good shape.

  • But Uga is soft soft soft. We will route them. They will curl up in a ball and cry as soon as the first quarter is over

Yup, sometimes its just the other team makes a good play. For them they made a bunch, Mett was so close to getting lit up if he was holding the ball a 1/2 sec. Oh well, through all that Bama still found a way. Contain JM, if he is able to make all those completions on tight coverage and we are not able to move the ball, then we deserve to lose. If the typical Bama team shows up, will be fine. Dont let them get momentum early
