I was tired of hearing about him and Notre Dame until we abused both of them. Now that this has come out, there are only two contexts for bringing up either, and I thoroughly enjoy both.

This really is an unbelievable story. ESPN pushes this kid and this story for months to the eventual tune of a Heisman runner up and these big time awards (from Wikipedia):

Gene Woj all but said he voted for him for the Heisman trophy BECAUSE of the strength of character he showed in overcoming adversity. I saw another Heisman voter celebrating on Twitter that he didn't have Teo on his ballot.

This story couldn't be any more entertaining. ESPN has egg all over their face, Notre Dame has taken the predictable stance that they're backing their guy (continuing to back "the most trusting person in history"), which very well could come back to bite them, Mel Kiper should have sh*t himself by now (the stubborn endorsements of Brady Quinn and Jimmy Clausen didn't work so well either), and we still haven't heard Manti's answer to a bunch of open ends remaining in this story.

This is one of those days where it's convenient to have a desk job in a fantastic period to be a Bama fan. It's hard not to be glued to this sh*t.

When it come out that ND helped Teo cover this up the press will all jump on the rape cover up story and all hell will break loose.

Details of the whole kid getting killed in a lift while filming practice and brushing the allegations of football players raping a girl that eventually committed suicide due to death threats she received for thinking about going public. I don't know about you but both of those seem pretty da*n serious to me and both went away like nothing ever happened.

No duh, this is essentially the same organization that spent 30 years covering up priests raping altar boys.

I feel like Manti didn't really believe that Notre Dame would have a great season and he needed some way to keep getting exposure. That way he would be talked about and the NFL scouts would pay a little more attention to him and see how he was playing through all of it. That way he could raise his draft stock even if ND didn't have a great season. Of course I don't know this as fact but think it could have a little to do with it.
