Man, I get that lol ...but he is not just a top recruit he is a once in a blue moon player, plus people are Tagging him a bust already just because he wants to play with his teamates, that is ignorant. EVERY "EXPERT" agrees with me EVERY SINGLE ONE

Jesus, why don't you guys look at the people who have succeeded? Bama fans are pathetic if it isn't all BAMABAMABAMABAMABAMROLLTIDEROLLTIDEROLLETIDE

Like many scouts say, the reason he is the top ranked player in YEARS is not because what he projects in college, but what he projects in the NFL....He has all the tools to in 4 or 5 years, develope into a terror in the NFL.

You know, I started taking my son to the golf course to play regularly when he was seven years old. The most important thing I always tried to impress upon him was that when he was at the ball park he could run around and cut up with his buddies as much as he wanted, but the golf course was an adult environment, and even at seven years old, he had to be a little adult. And if he did, adults would always be happy to let him play with them.

We get that you're an 18 year old kid. Hell, like I pointed out, it was obvious even before you confirmed it. Obvious because of the things you were actually saying. But this is an adult board, so try and keep up, with adult level comprehension skills, OK? This isn't the dorm room or frat house or you high school locker room. You're talking to adults.

No one here has said that RN won't make it. I certainly have not denied the fact that he has all the skills to be a first round pick. Hell, I'll even play the devil's advocate and say that he could even be the #1 pick. What we're saying is that no matter how good he is, there are all kinds of possible factors that could keep him from ever getting to the NFL. He could get in the dog house at Clemson...like IC...and get kicked out, bounce around from the FCS, and be labeled a trouble maker. He could keep developing this prima donna attitude and develop a crappy work ethic. He could get arrested. All sorts of things could happen to keep him from ever getting drafted...certainly could keep him from going first round.

You talk about "every expert" agreeing with you. You're problem is that, unlike us, you're not old enough to remember all of those same experts saying the same thing about others who never made it, included for non-football related issues. Come on...can you not even grasp the fact that whether or not he projects to be a top NFL pick right now is completely irrelevant to what we are saying?

Seriously...did you really have to look up Bryce Brown? Really? Please tell me you were just kidding when you said that.

No, it isn't that he is coming to Bama. It is that he "needs to play with his boys". His words not ours. I don't care where the kid goes and he has enormous potential. Having said that I don't want any kid who mentally displays red flags. The #1 player in the nation feeling the need to play with his boys and using it as the main criteria for choosing a school is retarded. It's a red flag. It may not come to fruition but it is still there.

If he chose Clemson over everywhere else and Clemson didn't offer half of his team then he wouldn't be getting this much flack. Oh, and not to mention again but he wants to play with his boys. It isn't that he feels the need to get his boys schollies. His boys could have played at lesser schools without him.

FYI - I haven't ever sucked a d**k. These are high school kids......potential is the key term. You remember the kid who signed with Clemson in 2008. #1 player nationally, worlds of potential......he had a very good career. He went second round. I know he dropped somewhat because of a knee issue but he wasn't going to be a top 3 pick IIRC. Kid's name was Bowers. Clemson certainly didn't win a title with him. Won't with RN.

if one of his 'boys' was RF and he used that as a reason to come he would be called loyal and very mature.

I'm not going to freak out because a good player didn't go to Bama. Me railing on him for trying to get his teammates schollys to a good (well, good compared to UAB) 1-A team would just be sour grapes.

The idiot/immature one is Dabo for going for the deal.

  • Where was Dequan Bowers ranked? I think he was top 2 maybe #1 & a lot of experts said he was a top 5 NFL draft pick in 3 years.

  • Since you had to look up Bryce Brown, I know you won't have ever heard of this guy, but Google the name Marcus Dupree. I think if you become familiar with his story it might help explain why folks on this board are trying to tell you there are no guarantees for the future.

Is this a reason not to want the #1 player? Because there have been occasional busts of big time recruits?

If RN said he would come to Bama without trying to drag 10 of his teammates with him we would take him. Our staff has told us we stayed in contact with him after he committed to clemson.

That doesn't count, he suffered a injury that affected his draft status...

I'll look him up when I'm out of CS....but my point is you guys can name a few top players that didn't make it, I can make a huge list of players who did.

No, its not a reason to not want the #1 player but it may be a reason not to say emphatically that he will be a top three selection in the NFL before he has finished high school.

Lol but that wasn't due to his talent, barring any injuries or thuggish actions, RN has a 98% chance to be a top3 pick, is that better for everyone?

  • This isn't on Nkemdiche. This is about Dabo. Dabo is a clown. What's amazing to me is that there are some people who want this clown to be Alabama's head coach one day. This guy's team got hit up for 70 points during a bowl game on national tv. This guy is being held hostage by a 17 year old kid. He acts Iike a teenager after wins. Dabo is making his institution look Iike a JUCO.

Nkemdiche is not to blame here. He is doing exactly what he is being allowed to do it and is doing it quite well. You may not like it, apparently Saban doesn't either, but Dabo and Clemson are desperate enough to entertain it. I'm just glad that Alabama doesn't have to do it. I am also glad that we have a coach that understands that one man doesn't make a team.

  • It's worth pointing out that only Clemson was willing to go to these lengths too. Not even Georgia was willing to go as far as rn wanted.

If it is rumored next year this kid was paid, is there anyone who will doubt it after the way he has publicly held Clemson hostage?

Don't forget that Ole Miss has already offered the Grayson gang. They are ahead of the curve because they have already offered Ryan Carter. Ole Miss is desperate but apparently so is Clemson.

Because Graysons team outside of RN is a joke and anyone who has seen them play real competition know this.

  • Heck, whats next?
Will he want his high school buddies in the starting lineup too?

Im so glad we have a coach that wins championships by building a true team, no need for these over-inflated ego types.

I just wonder what this guy really wants out of college, why wouldn't he want to play for a defensive mastermind that will prepare you for the NFL and life, and have a great chance of winning a national championship?

Have fun hanging with your dudes and playing on a second rate team.

In a couple years, probably right around the time RN gets taken in the second round (for the record, I actually would think he has a great shot of being top 5 material, but you've set yourself up too good for that and he is almost guaranteed not to go top 5-10) you'll finally realize what most of these folks have been saying in this thread - nothing is a sure things, especially when your are trying to project teenagers.

There is a lot that goes into being a top pick, beyond measurables. I don't totally blame RN for trying to get his friends schollies, but it is pretty ballsy for a 17-18 year old to tell a coach "give ____ a scholly and I'll commit" then a little later "now, give ____ a scholly and I'll for sure stick with my commitment". I still lay 90% of the blame on Dabo for opening that door. There's just a certain level of maturity that goes into being a real stud. But some players can get by with pure talent. Hopefully RN will make it, but as TheHit said, he is certainly raising some red flags that make you wonder...

At 18, shouldn't you have better things to do then come on here and antagonizing grown ups?
