"Character" is doing the right thing when nobody is looking.

  • Alexander seems to never get mentioned, and I don't know if it's because of his injury or if it's because he's not a top priority.

  • Great stuff Shane. Good job

  • I have read BOL state, more than once, that if Yeldon were to flip, that it would be later in the recruiting process. He will be an early enrollee, so he doesnt have but a month or so.

    Allen Thomas

  • Obviously I'm no recruiting analyst, so I can't say how Kwon Alexander compares to the current guys we have committed or are pursuing. That being said, when he was a sophomore, he was the most impressive linebacker I had seen at his age. For that reason alone I have always been a fan. I hope we get him.

  • I hear we may be seriously looking in the juco ranks for a offensive tackle.

    Crimson71

  • A: The two to watch are Brandon Hill and Casey Gladney. Hill has work to do on the ACT while Gladney has classroom work to do. Both will be late qualifiers if they make it.

Why would Hill be a sure late qualifier if it's just his ACT. Seems he could improve it be a good bit and be good to go?

I'm also confused by the Yeldon comment about switching later in the process. He enrolls in a little over a month. So are you guys saying that UA is trying to get him to wait and enroll later after working him some more.

  • God job Shane. Enjoyed that.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

  • Thanks Shane, will be interesting to see how Alexander and Yeldon recruitment pans out.

Most folks here know I'm definitely hoping we get Tyren Jones. Walton is about 3-4 miles from my residence and I've been to most of their games this season. Good kid and probably the most dynamic/exciting high school football player I've seen in person. As Shane referenced, he had 5 1st half TDs in their 1st Round Playoff Game last week....which included 4 TD runs and a 90 yard kickoff return for a TD. He almost returned a punt for a TD as well.

He's approaching 1,800 rushing yards on the season with 29 total TDs and averaging 52 yards per kickoff return.

He's a combination of Mark Ingram, Marshall Faulk [in college at San Diego St] and Barry Sanders & currently the leading candidate for Georgia Player of the Year and also a Finalist for the MaxPreps National Junior Player of the Year....and in my opinion he's underrated as being the #11 RB in the 2013 class.

Totally agree. Tyren is one of the most exciting players i have seen in years. Can't wait to watch him torch South Cobb in the 2nd round of the playoffs. ROLL TYREN ROLL!

  • My thoughts exactly on Eddie Williams. He could do whatever he wants position wise but his ceiling at safety is out of this world! He comes up with an attitude and can hawk anything. I know it is thrown around every year with great athletes but I see PT on both sides with this kid for sure. Shutting down at safety and a 3rd down beast! RTR

  • I was almost in tears too Reuben. That loss was bad. I hate losing more than I like winning.

have you personally spoke to him dukie? i am seriously hoping we get hill this year to enroll early and help because i think dee is gone or he would be practicing with the team. and that only leaves lacy hill jalston and drake to be threats at RB. and lacy leaves next year no doubt. if you would please keep us updated on tyren jones i think he is ray graham or dion lewis 2.0 he will be that good. hopefully we can get tenpenny and jones at RB next year.

  • I definitely agree with putting Eddie at Safety...after everything I've read...that's where I see him making the most impact...

  • If Landon Collins committed would Eddie then change to receiver?

  • Thanks Shane--this is a great feature and does a lot to mitigate unnecessary posts if we all read your answers. I'm still focused on our chances for LC, but understand the obstacles ahead to get his commit. Some day I want to ask God why the barn wasn't located in the State of LA instead of where it is!!!!

  • Why does DH have to be gone just because he isn't practicing with the team? Maybe he is actually dealing with personal stuff as Saban said. Why do we have to read into what wasn't stated? You may be right in the end, but it just seems negative for people to read that we already have come to that conclusion. I know, it's just a site to express our opinions. If the kid is really on the fence though, it seems we on BOL would want him to read about how much as fans we want him to stay with the team and us. JMO.
