As I stated in a previous post, the 247Composite will be our primary team ranking on the page, but we will carve out the 247Sports Team Ranking for users to compare in the near future. I spoke with our engineers this morning and they feel it is not a big deal to pull off.

You asked and shall receive.

Btw ... if you poll users why they subscribe to one of our sites less than 3% would say it is because of our rankings. First, all 247Sports rankings are free and in the public domain. They are part of the service that we provide that supports the efforts of each team site. Second, users subscribe for inside scoop from our talent and to be part of the message board communities.

In supplying a composite it allows for two things: First, it allows us to showcase the 247Sports analysts and scouts. This is obviously a huge part of our service and something that we will continue to invest in going forward. Second, it allows the fans to see how the industry rates a player or a team. I do feel that 247Sports does the best job, but I also feel that the industry as a whole is incredibly accurate and both numbers work well side by side. Lord willing, we will provide both.

The reason we went with the team composite is because of branding purposes and we feel that it is the most comprehensive view and there can be zero claims of bias. Additionally, it is well represented geographically. I see that many of you guys respect the work of JC's 247Sports crew and that is extremely appreciated and humbling. I will work with our guys to bring back an alternative view for your consumption to see a team ranking from just 247Sports. We will place our branding efforts in the #247Composte Team Rankings, but we will do our best to offer the original 247Sports view.
