Tim, Charles, ?? about transfers

  • Are you aware of whether CNS and/or staff conduct end-of-year one-on-one player evaluations and gives each of them their input as to what they believe their potential development will be at Bama so they can make an educated decision together regarding a transfer or is it strictly based on each players foresight of whether they see themelves ever getting on the field??? TIA

    Yes, can confirm 100% that Saban meets one on one with every player in the roster-walk ons included. They discuss in detail individ goals, draft status, transfer possibilities, etc etc-depending on the individual player.

    Can also say with almost certainty, that only way xfer comes up is of the kid brings it up. From what I hear Saban would not be the one to push or initiate that discuss. Now, he MAY bring up to 5th years that haven't/won't contribute that it may be a good time for them to concentrate on school. Not sure about this last part, but have heard this.....

  • Great insights on the transfer thing. Fifth year guys who won't contribute makes a lot of sense for them to focus on academics
