My favorite play of the year was the 4th and 1 stop against Auburn when they call a TO and run Dyer straight up the middle out of the Wildcat and got stoned. There were so many great plays from that game. The attempted screen pass then throw from Frazier when Dre had the guy on lockdown. Or the attempted option that went awry. Another personal favorite was the reverse that Jerrell Harris had sniffed out. Mosley falling down without Upshaw even touching him. That was a fun game.

Great recap...I usually remember details pretty well, I had forgotten how many pick 6's we had.. What a dominating D this year. Great article, looking forward to others. By the way with a D like this, I think any order would have worked

Pretty high praise from Coach Smart about this group. I have been watching Alabama football for many, many years and this defense is as good as I have ever seen. It is really impossible to pick the dominant player or position - incredible balance. Great article and loved remembering some of the best highlights of the year.

The media won't say it because most all of them hate Alabama, but this WAS the best defensive team of all time. I have watched football for more years than most here on BOL have been alive, seen hundreds of games, and I have never seen, and probably never will again see a defense that can compare with this one, I saw the great '61 Bama defense, the '92 defense, and the great Oklahoma defenses, but I think they all pale in comparison. I hope i am wrong about seeing a better Alabama defense,, but this year's D will be hard to beat. RTR!!

I could be wrong but didn't Upshaw have in interception against Kentucky in 2009. It might have been McClain, I can't remeber?.?.

Bama had a huge 4th down stop against Ark on a 4th and 1 play up the gut. Ark had some momentum at that point in the game (late in 3rd qtr) but was stopped at Bama's 43 yard line. Donta stuffed Dennis Johnson for a 1 yard loss. For some reason that play really sticks out to me.

that was the only game FSS this year so i think a lot of people's cable may not carry it...i had to have a friend DVR and rewound that part 20 times.
the guy really yelled it, too..can't blame him though - i'd yell "oh shit!" too if i turned around to see Big Jesse bearing down on me!
