Don't really see how you include Hutson - Hutson was an end; WR didn't even exist as a position at that time. To me, if you're going to exclude Newsome you should definitely exclude Hutson.

Actually, this is pretty close, and the post below mentioning Dennis Hallman is dead on, too. I've done a lot of research, and these two guys stick out.

Both were on the same team, so they kind of took away from the other. Both ran sub 4.4's. Both won multiple NC's. There numbers are pretty dang good, too, considering it was a time when we didn't throw the ball around a ton.

If I remember correctly, Hallman's daughter was also a standout for the UA track team...

Gotta mention Tyrone Prothro.
