  • Here's my take. First of all, it doesn't really matter what he said. It's just a funny little quote that made his speech memorable. With that disclaimer out of the way, he said folk. I've watched the video many times, rewinding it and listening to that one part over and over. To me, he clearly says "folk". You can even hear the 'k' sound at the end if you listen carefully. And yes, I am fully aware that he was standing right next to Barron and handed him the trophy. I am also aware that CU may have even claimed afterward that he said 4. He didn't, he said folk. Listen to it yourself on youtube. And it's a very common way for young black kids to refer to their friends and people they know. As others have pointed out, it's very similar to homie or cuz or bro. Ask other young people his age, and 95% of them will tell you he said "folk".

  • The Proper Response?

    I'm looking for the proper response to "Touch that thang fo". Say for instance you walk up to your BAMA teacher and just to be funny you say "touch that thang fo".  Would the proper response be;
    A. You can leave my classroom now
    B. Deer in the headlight look
    C. Roll Tide

    Haha.

    So it doesn't really matter what he said but you are going out of your way to prove that he was literally lying when he clarified exactly what he said?

    This entire dialogue is so incredibly stupid it is simply amazing. I am stunned by this thread.

    Of coures it really doesn't matter what he said. It's just a funny quote which happened to be the topic of this thread. It took me all of about one minute to find the video on youtube, listen to the part in question, and rewind it multiple times. So I wouldn't exactly call that going out of my way, or conducting research, as another poster put it.

    As for this whole dialogue being stupid, whenever I open a thread and find it 'stupid' or uninteresting, I close it and move on to another one. I don't 'go out of my way' to let everyone know how stupid I think it is. But I'm probably just not smart enough to understand the intricacies of a mind as superior as yours.
