Toughest game for us next year..

  • LSU or A&M

I say LSU. At this point they live to beat Alabama and have the athletes to go toe to toe. Offensive game this year

    @a&m IMO.

That place will be a madhouse. Manziel factor. Early in the year with a rebuilt OL. It will possibly be their biggest home game of all time. Early lead in the West up for grabs in September.

Plus, they'll have swagger after being our only blemish last year

I think we'll win, but we will earn it.

That's true, LSU always plays their best game against Bama.

I think their losses are way too profound though ad not having home field advantage are going to be very tough to overcome.

I do think aTm will be the biggest challenge but expect Bama to win by +10.

    A&M.
LSU is like an old nagging ex girlfriend that keeps calling and wanting to argue but i'm over her. I've moved on to bigger and better things and her name is A&M.
    Stop calling LSU your irrelevant

  • Ga in the Championship game.
    - LSU has talent but will not be as good as last year
    - A&M lost a lot of skill players on offense, defensively won't stop us

  • Honestly I am not worried about TAMU, but I think it will challenge or team the most. Our secondary, which will be young (not AU young) will be pressured to cover for much longer than against other teams. But the key will be our containment on defense and our commitment to the run on offense. I am thinking we put up 40+ against them this year, so they better be ready to score some too!

LSU just plays us tough. But we are man-to-man better than them this year at almost every position. Last year it was dead even, maybe even their advantage.

  • Everyone talks about everything LSU is losing, but aTm is losing a lot as well. All time leading reciever in Swope, oline, and 6 or 7 d starters including top 4 tacklers. And aTm has not been bringing in signing classes on the level of LSU, not even close. They have Manziel and everyone is riding his hype. Don't sleep on LSU. We play them late and I think the problems of youth they will have will largely be ironed out by then

Exactly this isn't LSU/Miles first rodeo. While this is only A&M's second year in the league. I still say it's LSU until we prove we can put a massive beat down on them in Nov. Something we still haven't accomplished.

  • These two are very close as far as being the tougher opponent next year. I would have to give A&M the edge though IMO.

  • Here is the scary thing - If we handle TAMU and LSU like we should, who else will even come close to keeping the game close with us? Maybe SECCG?

We could really run through the SEC next year like no team has in a long, long time. Damn I just jinxed us!

I think most will disagree but I agree with you.

LSU is later in the season which is typically when our physical style is most vulnerable (we do get a bye before them though). We have lost seven games in the last five years six of which were in November or later. A lot of that is just the schedule but still we generally beat the crap out of opponents in September / October.

By that point LSU's new players will be experienced and they will get good QB play against us.

They are obsessed with beating us...these last two losses have really hurt. Miles basically admitted last year his entire season was riding on that one game. It means a lot to A&M too but not the same thing.

They are more talented overall than A&M.

  • LSU will be very good running the ball next year.

I think GA will be the toughest game though. Their offense as ours should be hard to stop. Everything ya'll are saying about LSU losing way too much is exactly what was said about us last year.

You forget we were undefeated in regular season in 08 and 09 in SEC play. We did lose the 08 "SEC/NCAA" championship game

Still have some significant work to do on the OL but if Blue comes back healthy with Hill they upgrade at RB despite losing Ford and Ware. Receivers are OK not great and it all comes down to good consistent QB play from Mett. Will they get that? Probably not but I am will bet you a dollar he plays well against us. Haha.

  • The LSU defense does lose substantially all of its production but they are still going to be strong up front and will have serviceable enough LBs. The secondary is thin and inexperienced though and Chavis is going to need to find a great pass rusher or two to keep his system as successful .

All in all its a fair comparison but this is going to be a much tougher transition than UA from 2011 to 2012 in my opinion.

  • I think the toughest game of the regular season overall will be ole miss. They have 17 or 18 returning starters , including the starting qb, and they actually gave us a decent game last year(33-14). The toughest between atm and lsu, is atm imo. Atm didn't suffer as many personnel losses as lsu, and they get us at their house, lsu has to come to us. That said I think we spank atm pretty bad. It's usually not good for you, if our guys go into the offseason thinking about you, a la, Tebow the second time we saw him in the SEC championship game. RTR!

Visitor has dominated lsu/bama series for a while now and I agree OM will be fired up to play Bama
