Toughest game for us next year..

Agree. They still have Bo Wallace and Barry Brunetti at QB. We are 50-8 against them all time and I believe they've only defeated us once in Tuscaloosa. Ever.

There were times last year in our game where their D stepped up, but their offense was hapless most of the night. We toyed with them in the 2nd Half. Once it got to 27-7 at halftime we went into "let's just get this over with" mode with our playcalling.

We had the distinction of intercepting Ole Miss twice on the same drive last year (picked them off, fumbled the return, picked them again 2 plays later.) I'm not overly concerned with them.

I'm interested in OM/Barn/MSU/A&M this year for one main reason. They all run some sort of spread/no huddle offense. On top of that. All play in the same division of the SEC. LOL...u gotta think those teams playing close to the same style. Are gonna start hurting each other in the long run imo. While Bama, LSU, & Arky most likely have the better coaching staffs. & have been running mostly the same system for much longer.

Those teams are going to light each other up and feel great about themselves until they play Bama/LSU.

Arky is a non-factor this year because they don't have the horses but I'll be interested to see if Bielema can beat Saban and Miles at their own game down the road.

But I absolutely agree. OM/Aub/MSU etc aren't built to go toe-to-toe with power teams and defenses that are as fast as they are big.

We didn't have 10 juniors leave early last year. We've never had that.

I never said we did. It was all we heard though about losing 5 players in the first 30 draft picks.

Exactly & you gotta think it will impact recruiting more for those teams as well.

  • Wow. I was about to post that OM was our trap game this year when I noticed we have a bye week before that game. That's amazing. We have bye weeks before LSU, TAMU and OM. And I thought you only get 2 bye weeks per season. This has to be our easiest schedule we've had since Shula.

Only 2 bye weeks. Bama plays Colorado St. before the Ole Piss game

  • Ole Miss and Texas A&M surprised me big time last year. I didn't expect that kind of showing from either although A&M was a bit of an unknown being a new member of the SEC and having a new head coach. Ole Miss had a pretty depleted roster but Freeze did a pretty decent job with what he had to work with. He brought in a very good recruiting class. A&M has Manziel. Nothing else needs to be said. Neither one of those teams will surprise anyone this year though. But what other teams will surprise ? Every year a team or two does better than predicted at the beginning and another one or two underachieves relative to preseason expectations. Arkansas, Tennessee, Auburn and Kentucky all have new coaches. LSU, Miss. State and the barn at the end of the year will be an interesting stretch for us. As someone else already said, each of our losses the past two years came in November. Not saying it will happen this year because I think Bama is just flat better than all three of those teams but it is always worth watching down the stretch. Should be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

I agree if u gonna beat Bama it's usually down the stretch for some reason. Season takes a toll on those guys. & they always are coming off a battle with LSU as well. A&M's style of play. Coming off the game against LSU. Was the perfect storm for them.

  • The bye weeks are strategically placed this year though and that should help. The bye week came much earlier last year than it normally does. It was the first week of October before going to Missouri. Then we had Tennessee on the road, undefeated Miss. State at the time, LSU at night on the road then A&M at the end of the stretch. Hard to get through that unscathed with a good deal of injuries and pretty new defense.
