Tray Matthews.. Sorry guys But

  • Im not worrying about this one any more and as Lucky stated its a good possibility this was going to happen.

Tray Matthews talks recruiting and Reuben Foster.

UGA commit Tray Matthews talks about upcoming visits and who he knows for sure he will play with in college.

  • and what I dont get is if the two want to play together so bad and Rueben is committed to the Tide, why would Matthews not even look at the tide or visit more often? I mean were sending out secondary players to the league year in and year out in the first round while auburn and Georgia have difficulty even fielding a good secondary. Doesnt make much sense to me.

  • Can't BAMA fans just take RF at his word and stop allowing other people (kids mostly) to speak for him? Until RF decommits, or at least says something of the sort that would make us believe he doesn't want to go to BAMA, I'm going to continue to believe he's committed. Stop freaking out.

This....if the kid comes out and decides to decommit and go elsewhere...then ok. But until then, as long as he is asked the question and is straight forward with his answer that he's solid, then I'll take him at his word.

  • I don't want to lose RF, don't get me wrong. He's a game changing LB........but how many of those do we have on our roster already? If there is one position that we would be ok missing a top tier player it's LB

Heard that it would be the one position we could afford it.

Easier path to playing time is my guess. He even says he's got a great shot at playing early at UGA towards the end.

He isn't freaking out. He is just putting logistics into the ones that are freaking out.

True. We are loaded at safety. Wouldnt it be awesome just hear some of these conversations between coaches and prospects.

  • Listen guys, this is the world of recruiting. Taking people at their word works with some and taking others word with a grain of salt is more appropriate for others. Anyone who has followed recruiting for a long time, and has paid particular attention to the recent trends among recruits can tell that something is up here.

You have two commits from different schools saying there is a 100% chance they play together on the next level. There is a physical impossibility that they both honor their commitments if the 100% number is true. Therefore, neither is actually committed. I have followed recruiting for a long time and I can’t see any scenario where RF doesn’t flip is commitment to AU or UGA.

Notice I didn’t say there is no scenario that he doesn’t sign with us. After watching the way we handled Cyrus Kouandjio and Brent Calloway, its not over until signing day (maybe even later). But it is a sure thing these kids are planning some scheme and RF will flip before it’s all said and done. I know I will get down voted to oblivion, but this is the reality of the situation.

I agree with you man. Won't be over for a while but the flip looks more and more like a possibility each day.

People are just starving for something to read and talk about (myself included). As soon as practice starts up, all or most recruiting threads will stop.

Also, the recruiting will take care of itself with these high profile prospects when Clemson, AU, and others are looking at 5-6 total wins and we are on ESPN 24/7 b/c we are in the national championship discussion.

    I'm calm. Lol

Your original post reads that you have given up and that RF committing elsewhere is a foregone conclusion.

Just meant I wasn't worrying about it anymore as the writing seems to be on the wall. I just love following recruiting definitely a hobby of mine.

Ok I cant figure it out, so I am going to have to bite the bullet and just ask....
What is wrong with my grain of salt comment? Am I using it improperly like "irregardless" or "for all intensive purposes"? Or is there something else I am missing?

The correct terminology is grade of saw. Grain of salt is commonly misused in it's place so don't feel bad about it.

  • Tray Matthews himself said in an interview recently never take anything you hear seriously unless it comes directly from the recruit themselves.
