Hopefully, by then, he'll also understand that proud alums built that billion dollar endowment and played a major part in also building the AD to what it has become. After that realization, maybe he'll use that profit motive to make a pile of cash and contribute like we do.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'd rather see statues of the academic all Americans than a statue of the women's golf coach or softball coach. This is an academic institution! S. Patterson needs to be recognized because she has been at UA for so long and has accomplished so much. I always thought she should have something dedicated to her outside Coleman. I dont habe blinders on where i only see the football team, I do appreciate the women's golf team, the swimming team, and the rowing team. I appreciate those sports, but I don't care about them. No other sport drives the number of submitted applicants and actual enrollment like football does. I just think the line needs to be drawn there.

Very short-sighted view. It really is sad that some can't see the overall good that will be generated by this project. While the vast majority of Crimson Tide fandom is directed toward the football program, there is no doubt that the other programs are growing. Look at what the attendance trends have been in softball. And this is sure to grow after winning the championship. Overall, the plaza is about celebrating Alabama athletics and the champions they produce. This will show all those who visit that we truly are the most dedicated fans out there. As an alum, regular donator (to athletics and scholastics), and advocate of the Capstone, I want nothing more than to show pride for The University of Alabama and The Crimson Tide, regardless of the sport being celebrated.

It's just insane what he's posted. I think we should lock him in a room with softball pitching coach Stephanie VanBrakle and see who comes out alive. My money is on Steph.
