That's really wrong! I know that Texas has first choice on all the top flight talent in Texas and there's enough to go around but the reason Texas is in the situation they are in right now is because Mack Brown has done just what you said....

They've just taken the early "Top" list of Jr Texas recruits rather than beating the pavement like we do looking for the true difference makers. Don't get me wrong Texas has great talent but they don't have the true difference makers right now that Mack needs to win big.

Word around here in KC is that KU will have their new coach in hand and ready to announce for this Saturday's basketball game against Ohio State. They want to have the new coach in attendance to be introduced at half time to the students. I think the process is farther along then might be realized from the outside. They offered Leach but he didn't want to coach in the big 12 especially since he has an ongoing lawsuit against Tech. Fedora was there next choice but they were two years too late with him and he let them know he had better offers.

It appears to be a battle between UN Illinois coach Dave Doeren used to coach at KU and is from the area and is very interested in the position and Gus unless they want Fulmer or Nutt.
