I see your point, but Alabama is a tad > Ole Miss, don't ya think (g)?

Yeah, I have to agree with you Gina. There is a big difference between Alabama ( a top 2-3 program all time in CFB) and Ole miss, and a big difference in a head coach with a huge name with a NC and a up and comer(although he has showed promise).

With that said, I'm not jumping to the conclusion that they are cheating, just that the Ole Miss/UA analogy is a poor one.

Agree with you on all points. It is a head scratcher, but I certainly am not just assuming Ole Miss is cheating b/c they're doing better than usual in recruiting.

  • The question about all the love Ole Miss is getting seems like it has a simple answer. Nkemdiche's older brother went there because it might have been his best option at the time. He was undervalued obviously. Then comes little brother RN who will probably go there only because Denzel is there. RN, being the #1 recruit, brings the momentum to the program and a few top prospects like Tunsil possibly follow. Tony Conner is in the backyard. An outstanding coach and early playing time make Ole Miss an attractive option right now in the eyes of a recruit.

    Great post - agree 100%. +1

Not to compare Hugh Freeze to CNS, but Bama was in this situation in 2007-8 with lots of opportunity to get early playing time with a bunch of other huge recruits on the field with you. Would not be shocked to see them land R. Nkemdiche, Tony Conner, and maybe a 3rd huge recruit like Tunsil. I hope not, but stranger things have happened.... However, Tunsil has to see Bama as a much better route to the SECCG, BCS Title, and NFL while starting early in his career. We'll probably have an opening at right tackle immediately & another at left tackle after the 2013 season.

Ole Miss is definitely rising. Freeze has done an amazing job so far.

Yes, and I am going to assume Ole Miss will win more games next year. Freeze may not be there for too long if he continues to improve Ole Miss.

Gonna take alot more than a few 5 star recruits to make Ole Miss competitive in the West.

Sure, but I think why I am saying he/Ole Miss may do well next year is based off of some decent performances against BAMA and LSwho. You couple that with a decent recruiting class plus another year of current players understanding his approach to the game then possibly Ole Miss could see some improvement. Not that they will win the West but may win a couple of extra games. I hope we get Tunsil.

  • Reminds me of Bobbie Massie (sp?). OM was making big plans to take over the West then as well.

  • Recruiting is turning into a "dog fight" for each highly rated candidate.............I'm glad we have CNS and his staff on our side............thanks, Thomas

  • CHF seems to be doing a good job; however, the real test will be the development of some of these high star recruits.
I remember the barn having some decent classes in recent years but no development.
