  • Everyone talked about LSU last year potentially being one of the greatest teams of all time after they beat us. I don't know how people don't realize just how good we were last year, we beat big time college teams like it was High School ball. No one came within two td's of us other than LSU. When you look at just how badly we beat other teams you should see just how good this team was. Football has evolved since '92...2009 and 2011 Bama would have beaten '92 Bama by two scores. Tiffin was an All American I don't think he was too shabby compared to Proctor.

    This.

There aren't many teams that dominate every single opponent as we did last year, minus that one game. Even the '92 and '09 teams had some mighty struggles along the way.

On that point you are right and it's not close.

The average margin of victory was 27 pts in 2011 vs. 20 pts in 2009 and 19 pts in 1992.

In 1992 we beat Southern Miss by 7 pts, LA Tech by 13 pts, and UT and UF by 7 pts. In 2009, we beat Vtech by 10, UT by 2, LSU by 9, and AU by 5.

In 2011, the closest games other than LSU in November were the 16 pt victory over PSU and the 17 pt victory over MSU.

Statistically, the 2011 team had a similar (but slightly better) defense than 1992. The 2011 team gave up 8 pts a game and the 1992 team gave up 9 pts a game. They gave up 191 yds of total offense per game vs. the 1992 team at 194. These were two of the best defenses in college football history.

On offense though the statistical variance is significant. The 2011 team scored 35 pts a game vs. the 1992 team 28 points per game. In 2011, the average total offense per game was 436 (214 on the ground and 222 in the air). In 1992, the average total offense per game was 363 (208 on the ground and 154 in the air).
    On offense though the statistical

whatifsports.com It wouldn't let me go back to 92 but 2011 beat 2009 30-25 in my one run

  • 29 GAME unbeaten streak! and sabans longest streak ended in a defensive clinic in columbia SC AT 19 . O by the way the defensive coach of that defense was a Ellis Johnson who was a coach at bama in 1992. Would like to know what ellis would say.
