I can remember him playing in the "92 National Championship" against The Tide. I never would have believed that he would be a Asst Coach at Bama. This is a great hire for Bama. He will be a big asset at the Capstone.

Did not know Christobal played at Christopher Columbus...a lot of big time players in several sports came out of that high school back in its heyday.

You folks are going to absolutely LOVE Mario. Great person. Extremely passionate. Professional. Let go of the Thug U title. He is nothing but 1st class. And we are fortunate to have his coaching and recruiting ability on our team. I know he feels very fortunate for this opportunity.
And truth be told... (i know some will think this is crazy but...) Kirby Smart might have a little bit of competition when it comes to Saban's replacement. Mario is no joke! The man can coach. And although Miami is sidetracked with demolishing the NcAa, they will miss him a lot.

It's a great hire. No doubt about it. It's pretty telling that he has both the title of offensive line coach and associate head coach. Saban must think pretty highly of him. What I saw of him as FIU's head coach he seems like a very passionate coach that has a lot of toughness. I remember he took them to Louisville and beat them in 2011 at Louisville. That was a massive win for FIU.
